...should I spend £230 of the £1000 or so I have remaining from my Net-a-Porter prize on this Anna Sui cream lace, vintage-inspired dress?
I'm torn because this kind of thing is really not my usual style, but with Spring around the corner and Summer sneaking up on us all, it'll soon be time to start thinking about holiday wear.
I think I mentioned before that my Mum and I are planning a wee week/ten days away in Europe later in the year - initially she suggested Budapest but I think we've settled on a few days in Venice and a few days in Verona, then I'm going to spend a couple of days in Paris by myself before I head back. That's the plan anyway, and when I saw this dress earlier (weirdly in the bridal section of the NAP website?) it instantly grabbed me as the kind of thing perfect for swanning around a sweltering Italian/French city in.
What do you think, should I go for it and embrace my inner romantic, or hang back and wait for more black leather...?

I really really like it! Its not my thing either, but actually I think 230ish is an okay price for it. You can accessorize it loads to make it more edgy ect x
I think the answer is a big yes. It's perfect. Seems fairly easy to dress up or down and can be done up to suit various styles. Seems will make your winter wardrobe also. Swoon x
big fat yes, it is gorgeous! oooh you'd look so pretty floating around venice in something like that :)
Have you tried this dress on? It's gorgeous, but I'd be worried that the fitting at the bust will look different on a lot of people. Maybe you could try it on at Anna Sui?
If you're sure it would fit, go for it :) I wouldn't personally spend that much on a dress without trying it on though!
Still sooooo jealous of your win.
Oh it's gorgeous Kirsty, do it! Although it's out of your cmfort zone, at least it's not a too bold a colour. And did I mention it's gorgeous!? Sally x
Oh my God this dress is beautiful! Please get it!! Breaking your mold is good every now and again :) Plus you could make this look amazing with a leather jacket thrown over it....and imagine how movie-star you'd feel wandering around a romantic european city in it?! Haha, sorry I am way too into this, but this dress is gorgeous.
I jsut found your blog and love it, I'm your newest follower!

That is rather pretty and also timeless, this style will always be floating in and out of trend so a must. Plus it is well cut and will be perfect for spring/summer :)
thanks so much for everyone's comments guys! :) I still can't make up my mind so I think I'll wait till I'm almost out of money and get it, then if I don't like it I can send it back... xxx
