RICK GENEST (ZOMBIE BOY) - MUGLER AW11

I can't stop looking at these INSANE photos of Canadian Model, Rick Genest (aka zombie boy) for MUGLER (formerly Thierry Mugler) AW11.

Rick with Mugler's creative designer Nicola Formichetti

I first spotted photos of this guy's amazing FULL BODY TATTOOS on Tumblr ages ago but at the time I assumed it was just makeup... NO, those are his actual tats y'all!

There's something so captivating and beautiful about him - perhaps not one to bring home to the maw and paw, but jeeeeeze I can't tear myself away from these! Here's a wee vid as well for your pleasure:

I don't tend to pay a huge amount of attention to models (unless it's Stone, Moss or Lee-Kershaw) but this dude has IT. True, his is a look that wouldn't work too well commercially (understatement of the century?) but for MUGLER's apocalyptic/futuristic/alien vibe, zombie boy is the obvious choice.

Gaga clearly felt the same, since her video for Born This Way also features Genest, and the mad vibes echo MUGLER's direction, so I guess it makes sense. Still REALLY wish the actual song was better though...

What do we think??

He is something right...I really can't work out if its genius or just a bit creepy! Either way any excuse to listen to more GaGa is good for me!
Fab blog btw!

Amazing! I find it weirdly compelling and is it weird to say I think it suits him? x

Ahh, that is madness! As if they are all permanent, must have hurt SO MUCH! He's doing well for himself though, and I literally can't stop staring at him just to understand hah, I agree about the Gaga song, I'm bored of it already ha xxx

I feel sorry for this guy. I feel like I want to hug him and say 'What happened to you that made you do this to yourself?'. I know its arty and 'cool' but I just kinda think it's sad? Or maybe I'm just too soft?

Wow! What a fantastic crazy look. I can't imagine how much it must have hurt to get the tender skin around your eyes tattooed. eep!

I definitely did not think those were tattoos when I saw the Born This Way video. Insane! I can't help but wonder what he'll look like if he puts on weight as he gets older though.. Hmm.

I'm really impressed that they used him. I don't think anyone should feel pity for him, he's a work of art.

I find it really compelling as well, attractive almost. Obviously this kind of extreme body modification will divide people, but if he's happy then I guess we shouldn't judge, right? Gotta say though, aesthetically, I think this look really works for this campaign. X

What WILL he look like when he's 80. Seriously. It looks as though there's a proper handsome face under there too.

I actually find the tattoos a bit distracting - successful marketing?

Later dude ;)

Wow, frankly, he's attractive in a dark, twisted way, but there's so much pity for this man it's disgusting.
