Sorry to shatter your perceptions of an icy-cool demeanor folks, but the heart wants what it wants. I pretty much love ALL weddings , especially when they're on the telly - Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, Don't Tell the Bride, Bride Wars, Four Weddings, Bridezillas... You name it, I love it. You might also remember I was BESIDE MYSELF for last year's Royal Wedding... Yuh, it's a THING.
So when I perused Vogue.com this morning and discovered that acclaimed badass-jewellery designer Pamela Love got hitched to her beau Mathew Nelson in Montauk Long Island recently, I couldn't help but drool over the photos.
You remember Pamela Love, she's the uber-awesome designer responsible for amazing rings and necklaces like this:
I DIE. My kingdom for the arrowhead ring!
Anyhoo, her nuptuals took place in an old 1950s holiday camp-turned-resort and of the hippy vibe, she said “I wanted the wedding to be about being in a natural, wild environment—which is kind of what love is.” AWH!
Tell me this doesn't look like something straight out of Sofia Coppola's dreams...
The cake included one vegan layer for her hubby
The vows...
Pamela's custom-made jewels for the day
Matching white gold wedding bands with turquoise inlay
'The couple spent the day before the ceremony potting flower arrangements in Mason jars that decorated the tables, and Love approached the chuppah to a rendition of Neil Young’s Heart of Gold. During the reception, guests played on wooden swings in the trees. “It was perfect, like hippie summer camp,” Love said.'
Could this have looked any more laidback and relaxed? So many weddings are so rigid, over planned, and it seems like everyone except the bride lets their hair down. Not here - apparently Pamela and her hubby were the last to leave the party!
*SNIFF* I do love a good wedding.
Sorry, I think I have something in my eye...

ps. I am also a total wedding junkie.. I can't get enough of Dont tell the bride & Four weddings!
Takes a whole lotta planning to make a wedding look this relaxed!
Me too, the flowers are BEAUTIFUL! X
You're probably right Michelle! But I dunno though, it just looks so chilled and unfussed. Plus she looks so beaufiul! Xx
It's a lovely, lovely wedding! And a lovely post.
I have to admit ever since I was little I wanted a properly planned wedding all very expensive and over done, but this has actually changed my mind tremendously. It looks like the nicest wedding ever, and I have always been more of a country kind of person rather than inner city posh type. Wow I am so amazed. Thank you so much for sharing!
And those rings are just perfect.
I love these pics! Especially the one where she is walking down the aisle with her mum! How lovely! I agree with Michelle that this wedding has been very well planned. I have been to so many weddings over the past few years that I have deduced that the best ones (ie. the ones that seem the most romantic and effortless) are the ones that are super-organised! Effortlessness is an illusion it seems! x
Wow the bride looks stunning and the dresses are gorgeous! The cake looks beautiful too :) xx
her hair, the dress, the flowers in her hair, the setting...it's all fairy tale lovely! of course the jewelry was wonderful, too!
@Carrie I know what you mean, I'm sure this was planned down to the last detail, but I still think that both the bride and groom (and their guests) look relaxed - as if they're enjoying it! I've been to a few weddings where the ceremony and reception have been OVERPLANNED so much that no one gets to enjoy it, it's like a military operation. This just looks so different to all that. But you're right, totally planned and full of effort I'm sure, just the RIGHT amount though. xx
