LANA DEL REY FOR H&M

So come September, Lana Del Rey will be the new face of H&M's autumn collection. Interesting...

I have a  very weird love/hate relationship with miss Del Rey... Sometimes I think shes awesomely cool and kinda wanna be her, other times she makes me CRINGE so bad I can't take it. She's this odd mix of edgy and cheesy, no?  But here in these promo shots for the collection out in September, I have to say I think she looks fantastic. But then, I love a shameless bouffant and costume jewellery so I do...

Her hair. I need her hair.

Doing what she does best - 60s, pouty, sexy - I reckon she's nailed it. Judging from these pics (the only two I could find online) the fall collection at H&M is sure to include loads of pastels, angora and bling - luckily I can get on board with those. What do you guys reckon? Is Lana a good fit for H&M?

Here she is pretending to be Jackie O. I actually love the chorus in this song but I can't BEAR the bits when she does that stupid talking nonsense... "Money is the anthem of success..." AHHHH It's so awkward mate, just sing!

LANA DEL REY: MARCH VOGUE UK COVER

Hmmm...
I know SO many people will be falling over themselves to say how beautiful she looks, and she does, but is anyone else kind of sick of having her shoved in their face?

Right now the PR campaign for Miss Del Rey is about as subtle as a ten-ton truck. Despite the album being resolutely panned pretty much everywhere, it seems we (and Vogue) are more than willing to over-look that because, AW, SHE'S SO PRETTY!

Whaddya think?

By the way, don't forget to CLICK HERE to register for the International Women's Day Scottish Blogger 'GET TOGETHER' event in March. You have to register to come :) x

GAGA BY TERRY RICHARDSON - A PEEK INSIDE

As a committed LITTLE MONSTER, as soon as I heard about Gaga's new coffee-table art book full of photos of her shot by Terry Richardson, I KNEW it was going at the top of my Christmas list!

The dude himself is the ultimate sleaze machine - like ULTIMATE! But, that aside, anyone that gets to follow Gaga around for an entire year snapping away at every opportunity - when shes in the bath, first thing in the morning, backstage after a concert, chillin in her jammies, etc. - is tolerable to me.

Anyway, the results of their collaboration are expected to be beautiful, artistic, sexy and controversial but only a few have leaked online so far. Have a gander and see what you think...

Got milk?

Me, like 99% of the time.

Here's the Lady herself explaining the book in a bit more depth...

(Please ignore the way she pronounces EXCERPT in the first few secs. It physically hurts me.)

Is it on your list for Santa this year?

DRUNK AND I AM SEEING STARS

Lana Del Rey = girl crush du jour. Just don't look at her lips for too long...

Swinging in the backyard
Pull up in your fast car
Whistling my name

Open up a beer
And you say get over here
And play a video game

I'm in his favorite sun dress
Watching me get undressed
Take that body downtown

I say, "You the bestest,"
Lean in for a big kiss
Put his favorite perfume on

Go play a video game

It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby now you do

Singing in the old bars
Swinging with the old stars
Living for the fame

Kissing in the blue dark
Playing pool and wild darts
Video games

He holds me in his big arms
Drunk and I am seeing stars
This is all I think of

Watching all our friends fall
In and out of Old Paul's
This is my idea of fun
Playing video games

It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you

Baby now you do

She looks like something Terry Richardson dreamed into existence, right?

But, even with those ridiculously plumped collagen lips, I still would.

GIRL CRUSH DU JOUR: ALEXIS KRAUSS

One half of Brooklyn-based noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells, Alexis Krauss has been on the periphery of my radar for a while as a badass rock n roll chick, but after the video for the band's new single Rill Rill (taken from their AWESOME album Treats) was released recently, I've developed a FULL ON girl crush/borderline obsession.

Loving everything about this look. Check what I mean:

See? Not only is this a GRADE A choon, perfect for lazy summery days in the park with friends, but Alexis's style is off the hook.

I think we all know how much of a fan I am of acid-wash denim, and the studded fingerless glove and leather studded bracelets remind me of my mosher days. Plus, she's making me want to cut a fringe in like NAEBDY'S BUSINESS.

On yersel Alexis...

Stone fox, right?

DANCE TO THE BEAT OF MY DRUM

Well, Bloggies, it is ALWAYS the quiet ones isn't it?!

Arguably Girls Aloud's shiest member, Nicola Robert's first solo track released today is an absolute stonker! Apart from being a pure CHOON (it does take a few listens, and the L.O.V.E chorus is very Justice vs Simian but still...) she's been styled to absolute perfection in the accompanying video.

What do you guys think of her look? A winner, no?

Since her porcelain-skinned, couture-loving reinvention a few years ago, her style has evolved to become the most interesting, fashion-forward and individual of all the Girls Aloud ladies.

The two key looks are both perfect, but I especially love the latter half of the video which sees Nicola in this multi-coloured jumper and high side-pony combo. I'd love to know who styled the video, anyone know? Smacks of House of Holland and she WAS Henry's former muse, but I can't find confirmation of this online anywhere.

He did however style her website artwork, so it would make sense:

Pretty, no?

All in all I'm loving both the song and the look. Thumbs up gurrrl!

NUVOLE BIANCHE

Like loads of people, I was one of those that loved Shane Meadows' series This is England 86. One of the many great things about it was the haunting and beautiful music used over the adverts.

Seriously, take a few minutes out your day to enjoy this. You won't regret it.

Stunning.
