DANCE TO THE BEAT OF MY DRUM

Well, Bloggies, it is ALWAYS the quiet ones isn't it?!

Arguably Girls Aloud's shiest member, Nicola Robert's first solo track released today is an absolute stonker! Apart from being a pure CHOON (it does take a few listens, and the L.O.V.E chorus is very Justice vs Simian but still...) she's been styled to absolute perfection in the accompanying video.

What do you guys think of her look? A winner, no?

Since her porcelain-skinned, couture-loving reinvention a few years ago, her style has evolved to become the most interesting, fashion-forward and individual of all the Girls Aloud ladies.

The two key looks are both perfect, but I especially love the latter half of the video which sees Nicola in this multi-coloured jumper and high side-pony combo. I'd love to know who styled the video, anyone know? Smacks of House of Holland and she WAS Henry's former muse, but I can't find confirmation of this online anywhere.

He did however style her website artwork, so it would make sense:

Pretty, no?

All in all I'm loving both the song and the look. Thumbs up gurrrl!

DO IT LIKE A STARMAN

I'm not really one to jump on a pop star bandwagon (GAGA*ahem*) however I have to confess a bit of a random style-crush on Jessie J. I've totally sickened myself with that song, Do It Like a Dude, but I can most definitely still appreciate a hot outfit on Miss J, and this is no exception:

The rest of the outfit is OK but I am crushing HARD on those House of Holland star-print tights. Very Miu Miu SS11, no?

Uh-oh I predict another tights-buying frenzy... Mind the super suspenders from last year? Mark my words, these badboys will be the next of Henry's kitsch hosiery to sell out...

OH AAAAND for those of you who commented on my LEATHER DILEMMA post, I picked up my ACNE Rita leather jacket today and will most definitely be keeping it! I loved the other one too, but in the end the textured effect, boxy shape and silver zips/studs combine in this piece to give a timeless rock n roll look - something I know I'll never tire of.

Thanks for your feedback though, it was a hard decision!

FINALLY!! I am now 9th in the voting lineup to win the Elle internship, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote - yes, I'm begging - if you have a spare few seconds, as it would seriously make my entire life. Voting closes on Friday.

Not to be dramatic or nothing...

HOUSE OF HOLLAND SS11

Pics first, review second.

I didn't like it. I mean, it had pleats and TASSELS and everything, but I just didn't really get it, or rather, get INTO it. I liked the colour palette of turquoise, pinks, greens and metalics, and as ever, one or two of the pieces (mostly the fringed and tasseled pieces I guess) were beautiful, but on the whole I was bored. I like Henry Holland because he's the essence of London fashion - a bit out there, a bit cheeky, young, eccentric, etc. If anyone was going to stay away from this 70s vibe it was going to be him. Or so I thought.

Nope, he was all over that trend. Citing a banana leaf as his inspiration, that print dominated his most commercial collection yet. Yawn. YAWN. Even the hair and makeup was boring. Bronzed cheeks? Big deal. I can't even tell you how disappointed I was.

To contrast with this collection, just LOOK at how awesome AW was:

This was SO ghetto fabulous! I could have worn any one of those pieces comfortably - in fact I would KILL someone for the C.T.F.O top (chill the fuck out, y'all).

Hey, it's just my opinion. Who thinks I'm talking rubbish? Thoughts?
