THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR STOMPIN

Winter means a new pair of winter boots. Lusting after ALL these studded lovelies featured on the New In section of Solestruck.

A mix of Dr Martens, Ash, Jeffrey Campbell and UNIF. Enjoy!

Not exactly dainty or unassuming are they? Going to HAVE to get the Doc Marten ones, but I wish they came fleece-lined like my trusty brown ones from last year...

What ones are your favourites? Or are they all hideous!

Oh, and just cos the title of this posts reminds me...

Like This is England but, well, worse and not as cheery. Russell Crowe though...

JEFFREY CAMPBELL SUMMER LOOKBOOK 2012

I have to be honest, I expected more from the Jeffrey Campbell summer 2012 look book "Hot Child in the City." The name conjures up a kind of 70s, glamorous New York vibe, a little bit Studio 54, a little bit sweaty grunge and definitely very sexy... Instead these shots are lacklustre at best, and although the shoes in the collection look fabulous (we knew they would) I don't think they're being shown to the best of their potential by half-assed styling and lack of coherent inspiration...

See what I mean? There's too many random things going on - snakeskin, neon, tie dye - combined with downright BAD (and cheap?) styling and no actual vibe or theme to speak of. In some of the shots you can't even see the shoes when, OBVIOUSLY, they should be the main feature?!

Perhaps it's unfair to judge this lookbook too harshly since Jeffrey Campbell are, after all, a shoe brand, but in that case why waste time and effort on something so mediocre when they could have let the shoes speak for themselves as they often do. They're established enough to know better. It's a shame.

What do you think, do you guys agree or disagree?

BLACK MILK X JEFFREY CAMPBELL

What happens when notorious galaxy-print legging-manufacturers Black Milk team up with the hipster shoe-porn creatives over at Jeffrey Campbell for a limited edition collection of footwear?

THE WORLD EXPLODES IN A BURNING BALL OF COOLNESS!

No, obviously, that's ridiculous. But actually, the result is some PRETTY AWESOME shoesies...
Loving how well those last pair tie in with my last post :) Ahh sweet symmetry.

These limited edition wedges are only on pre-order at the moment but will no-doubt fly off the shelves when they go on general release in the next month or so. Whaddya reckon, you likey?

I'M IN LOVE...

..with a shoe.

Behold, the Jeffrey Campbell Smudge Fab in black paisley:

I know everyone harps ON AND ON AND ON about the bloody Litas but they don't particularly do it for me and in my opinion are the perfect example of The-Emperor's-New-Clothes syndrome...

These are WAY more up my street. J'adore :)

TREND ALERT!

Geisha heels...

It's weird how your tastes can totally change from one extreme to the other without really realising it. I used to hate wedges CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE THAT?!

Seriously, I did. I was convinced all wedges were hideous and made your ankles, calves, knees and everything else fat, fat, fat. What on earth was I thinking - now I can't get enough!

The bigger - and crucially the flatter/more geisha-like - the better it seems.

Traditional geisha sandals

Won Hundred wedged pump, available at Urban Outfitters this spring/summer.
These come in black as well and I can FEEL a cult shoe trend brewing in my water...
 Topshop wedged sandals.
Ohhh dear me, these have jumped up to the top of my Topshop SS wishlist...

Melissa for Vivienne Westwood winged wedges.
I first saw these a while back on Queen Marie over at Kingdom of Style and loved them instantly.

So what do you think, are you guys on board with this emerging trend or not?

NO TIME

..to post a proper review of BAFTA fashion (Alba, Swinton, Stone, HBC and that wee girl from True Grit all getting thumbs up tho, non?), OR to savor any of NYFW's pickings... YET...

But just enough time to post some fierce pics of my new shoe porn du jour.

What the hell's happened to me??? These are as Rainbow Brite, candy-cute, pre-pubescent and girly as they come but I WANT, I WANT, I WANT!!

These beauts come courtest of Etsy's Jamesrowlandshop whom I've posted about before in an Etsy Spotlight.

Honest to God, I'm a little disturbed myself at the wacky direction this recent penchant for colour is heading..............

You like??

PS thanks for all your comments on previous posts, guys! I ususally try to comment back on the original post (if I have time) but I hate the way Blogger doesn't alert you to follow-up comments, so if you ask a question or whatever and are expecting an answer I'll normally try and give on on the original post innit... Otherwise if you just email me at my hotmail (link at top) I'll defo respond. Dunno if that whole schpiel was a bit dorky or whatevs...

GEE WA WA

I think I've found my new favourite shoe porn site...

Solestruck is an American website which stocks, amongst others, Jeffrey Campbell (of Lita fame), Dolce Vita, Carin Wester, Sam Edelman (of Zoe fame) and brand in question Gee Wa Wa.

Check out their Fantasia boot. I'm in lust:

I know, RIGHT?!

A classic chunky black boot will NEVER age, and these are on the right side of quirky/weird with that unusual shaped sole to add enough interest but remain totally wearable. Dressed up or down, this boot's a killer.

I'm actually quite skint at the moment, or else these would have been in my basket like yesterday! Oh, did I mention they ship worldwide FOR FREE?????

SHOE PORN

I missed halloween this weekend because of my STUPID broken toe. Grrr. Spent Saturday night in bed with Xfactor instead, lamenting Treyc's outfit shoice (Oh Grace Woodward, what were you thinking?!) and appluading Cher and Katie Weasel. NEVER thought I'd hear myself say those words, but I loved the eyelashes!

Anyway, it sucks because I had the David Bowie outfit all planned out - it was going to be all kinds of awesome and amazing. Alas, it'll just have to wait till next year...

As a result of what I'm now referring to as The Toe Saga I've been kind of obsessed with finding shoes that I can fit my deformed foot into this week, and only one pair of Toppers boots would really suffice.

THAT IS until I ventured into Primark for the first time in literally forever and came away with some pretty little black chelsea boots which, dare I say it, are none too shabby.

Here follows some other hot black shoes and boots I've been lusting after/purchasing recently. Deep breaths people:
Topshop. NEED. Topshop. GOT.
Topshop NEED RIGHT NOW!

Urban Outiftters. NEED.

Urban Outfitters. ARRIVED YESTERDAY :)

Melissa for Vivienne Westwood. NEED.
Sam Edelman - ASOS. NEED.

Kurt Geiger. NEED.
