HALLOWEEN WITH THE THEATRE OF THE NAMELESS

Last year I was ALL OVER Halloween by the beginning of September... Sods law that I broke my toe a few nights before Club Noir and eventually had to give it a miss. Such a gutter, especially since I'd been planning my Bowie costume for ages!

To be fair it was never really going to be much of a costume PER SAY - the focus was to be ALL on the dramatic Ziggy Stardust makeup a la Dakota Fanning in The Runaways. This year, due to lack of inspiration, I've not really made any plans - either about what I'm doing come October 31st, OR what I'll be dressing up as, but whatever I settle on you can bet the makeup will play a big part.

Halloween-style, dramatic, sinnister, fantastical makeup is also the focus of Illamasqua's new campaign, Theatre of the Nameless...

"In this nocturnal den of the dissident leaders of underworld subcultures, exotic dancers rub shoulders with actors and anarchists. Infused with the essence of self-expression that transformed 1920s Berlin, this rich and indulgent collection envelops the senses.

Darkly sophisticated tones are accompanied by shocks of dazzling iridescence and kinky rubber-look finishes, creating a breathtakingly modern interpretation of the most illicit nightlife in history.
It's time to cross the threshold and embrace a world of unadulterated decadence."

The looks are INSANELY gorgeous, right? I especially love the black lip-liner and jewel-encrusted nails. Cabaret gone wrong, sinnister, sexy and creepy, these images have got my Halloween inspiration juices flowing...

Bravo, Illamasqua, bravo. I'm normally more than a little intimidated by big makeup brands (read MAC and their scarily done-up sales assistants) but every time I've visited Illamasqua at Debenhams in Glasgow, the girls behind the counter have been lovely. What with that, plus my recent purchase of Skin Base proving to be one of the best makeup moves I've ever made, and now this awesome new campaign, I really am loving Illamasqua more and more.

Thanks to Theatre of the Nameless I'm now thinking some kind of zombie Sally Bowles crossed with an evil, Art-Deco Cleopatra for Halloween. Sawwted!

Whadda reckon? Anyone tried any of the products from this range? The freak in me screams BUY THE GREEN LIPGLOSS! Bit much?

Uhft heck, here's Money from Cabaret, just for kicks.

SHUDDER!

AHH SOMEONE ELSE ACTUALLY SAW THE RUNAWAYS!!! Literally one of my favourite films ever and no one else ever appears to have heard of it :L
I saw go for the green lipgloss, purely because I'm sure Cleopatra would have approved - she was one of the first make up girls after all :L

green lipgloss sounds amazing but maybe try stargazer first for your bonkers colours. the nail polishes from illamasqua and without a doubt some of the best i've ever used.xx

I wish it was acceptable to wear make-up like that every day. Not that I have the skills to do it...
I'm going as Wednesday Addams for halloween as I already have a dress like hers and I'm a total cheapskate. I did fork out a whole £4 for a wig though.
